We don’t have all the details but reports are suggesting that Tom Petty’s life could be in danger right now. The 66-year-old rocker was found unconscious at his Malibu home and was being rushed to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital.

What we currently know is that he wasn’t breathing and was in full cardiac arrest when he was discovered. When he arrived at the hospital, he was put on life support and, while his pulse returned, TMZ is reporting that his brain scans have shown no activity and the decision was made to remove him from the machines.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers emerged in 1976 and led to Petty becoming one of the greatest rock icons in history with songs like “American Girl,” “Free Falin’,” “Refugee” and “I Won’t Back Down.” Even at his age, he just finished an extensive tour which wrapped last Monday at the Hollywood Bowl after running since April. That’s incredible!

While it all sounds pretty grim, let’s continue to hope for the best.
