But if you thought Kelly has a good relationship with the producer, you have it VERY wrong.

Kelly stopped by Z100 where she was asked about Dr. Luke and revealed that she refused a writing credit for her No. 1 single “My Life Would Suck Without You” because she didn’t want her name next to his:

During the interview, Kelly first reiterated how she was forced to work with Dr. Luke on “My Life Would Suck Without You” or else her label wouldn’t release her new music:

She explained how she asked her label SPECIFICALLY not to work with Luke because of her past experiences with him, but they still forced her to collaborate:

“I was so frustrated because I literally said anyone in the world but this one person. I will work with anyone you want to put in my path, like I love people! But it was just this one thing and I asked to not work with Dr. Luke just because I had not a good experience working with him. They just wouldn’t give it to me.”

So after rewriting and recording “My Life Would Suck Without You” with Luke, Kelly revealed she refused a writing credit for the song because she didn’t even “want her name near his” 🔥🔥🔥:

“They brought up writing credit at the end because they were like, ‘Well, you changed the song.’ And I was like, ‘I don’t want my name near his. I wanna pretend this didn’t happen in my life and I wanna forget it.'”

And even though refusing the writing credit for the hit song cost her hefty royalty checks, she didn’t care because the point she was making was more important than the money:

“Well I mean God, there’s hundreds of thousands of dollars gone because of that. You know what I’m saying? I was making a point to the people working with me going, ‘This is how much I didn’t want to do this.’ Like, I don’t care about the money… that’s not what holds weight in my life.”

Goddamn, I love this woman.
